Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer has finally confirmed the inevitable: Office is coming to iPad. However, the software suite won’t arrive on iOS until they debut a “touch-first” version of it on Windows. He added that a touch-first version is currently in the works.
The company has already launched an iPhone version of Office called Office Mobile for Office 365 Subscribers. As you can probably tell, the app requires a subscription to Office 365. They haven’t announced whether the iPad version will also require a subscription, or will work as a stand-alone product.
