Computer Concepts Chapter 6 Release Notes

We have added a new chapter to the Computer Concepts module titled Introduction to Web Development! The chapter includes these skills:

PowerPoint Cheat Detection

SIMnet now has been rolling out the ability to detect if a student has copied elements of a document from another student’s file and pasted the elements into their own file throughout the summer. This is in addition to detecting if a student submits another students file for grading. Details about the copied elements is available in the Academic Integrity Violation Report. This feature now available for PowerPoint 2013 Skills projects and PowerPoint 2013 In Practice projects.

Bug Fixes and Project Improvements

Word

Grading of tables of contents can now handle all methods of inserting the table of contents.  Checking the style of the table of contents has been improved.

Grading symbols such as registered trademark and copyright now accommodates the multiple ways that symbols are represented in the underlying files.

Excel

  • 2013 In Practice – Independent Project 4-4 – Improved grading of pivot table elements and filters.
  • 2013 In Practice – Independent Project 5-5 – Removed document formatting from the start file and added grading for step 9b.
  • 2013 In Practice – Independent Project 7-5 – Added a check for the existence of a password when grading protect sheet options.
  • 2013 In Practice – Independent Project 8-5 – Improved grading of chart style and pivot table.
  • 2013 Skills Approach – Skill Review 4.1 – Added a note to the instructions regarding step 21.
